Privacy policy.

This policy describes how StoreList processes information for its South African store directory. The service is operated remotely from China and uses Cloudflare infrastructure; information may be processed outside South Africa.

Information we use

We store the account details you provide, including your name, email address, authentication records and optional profile image. When social login is enabled, we receive basic profile information authorised through that provider. Passwords are hashed. We also store submitted store information, products, reviews, reports, claims and saved stores.

Why we use it

We use this information to provide accounts, maintain the directory, verify store ownership, moderate content, respond to reports and protect against abuse. Session cookies keep you signed in. Security logs may contain request details needed to investigate errors or misuse.

What becomes public

Published store and product details, reviews and your review display name may be visible publicly. Your account email, private claim evidence and authentication credentials are not part of the public directory. Do not submit sensitive personal information in reviews or business descriptions.

Service providers and retention

Cloudflare hosts the application, database and uploaded files. A configured email provider sends verification and account recovery messages. Social login providers process their own authorisation flows. We retain account and submitted content while necessary to operate the service and handle disputes, subject to deletion requests and legitimate retention needs.

Your choices

You can update your account, manage saved stores and request deletion. Use the account settings where available, or submit a privacy request through a store report clearly marked “Privacy request”. Do not include passwords or identity documents. See the data deletion instructions.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service develops. The date above identifies the latest version. Material changes affecting account information will be communicated through the service.
